“When the Roman ram finally beat down the gate, the foolhardy Spanish army could finally see the horde they were to defend against. Their commander had falsely convinced them that the mighty sound of the Romans' march was just a farce, and when the Roman arrows soared over the tiny wall to decimate the Spanish troops their commander said it was the bulk of their attack, and they must remain brave. But when they could see the hundreds of Romans ready to spill Spanish blood, they wasted not a second in abandoning the walls.”
