When asked what cities Vvardenfell tourists plan on visiting, very rarely is Ald Velothi mentioned. That'd be because it's a nearly unnoticeable village on Vvardenfell's north west coast. Ald Velothi is a small cloister of huts, full of mostly Dunmer fishermen who make just enough to meet life's demands. An unlikely place to find a hero.

Jace Morlinn was an interesting Imperial. While most would proudly admit to the up-and-up type of lifestyle of the plantations in the Ascadian region of Morrowind, or living in outstanding mansions in Morrowind's biggest cities, Jace was proud of his heritage and his life as a simple fisherman. Like his father before him, and his father's father before that, Jace lived in the highest hut in Ald Velothi, sailing the bay each early morning to fetch the biggest load.

While the Morlinn family name wasn't always one of poverty, it had been for a few generations by the time Jace inherited it. The Morlinn fall from grace involved several thousand gold worth of Skooma purchases from more than a hundred years before, and while the Morlinn purse took a beating after Imperials investigated Jace's great great grandfather for criminal charges, the Morlinn reputation took the biggest blow.

Although fishing was a helpful enough skill for surviving, Jace knew that Morrowind was a place of many dangers. Whenever he wasn't sleeping, eating or tending to his boat, Jace could often be found around the outskirts of Ald Velothi hunting small game or just generally practicing his swordplay. He was far from a master, but the heavy and dilapidated sword and shield he was forced to practice with ensured that he grew strong fast. Living off the land and doing all the hard work for himself, Jace had grown quite strong and capable in his short twenty one year life.

He'd soon find that strength would be tested like never before...
