Alright fellas, I'm in dire need of direction.
I've always been a writer. From poetry to prose, I adore writing anything and everything. Even when I was still in school, I was the only kid in class that enjoyed writing essays. I've always had a vivid imagination, a wide vocabulary and a wicked penchant for mythology or lore.
But I'm also a nasty procrastinator. Ah, the story unfolds.
My countless attempts to put my crazy imagination into book form have always ended in unarguable vain. Even my many attempts at writing short stories, or episodic style series have ended with little to show for my work. Lately, I haven't even tried anything because I've lacked inspiration and faith.
And this, my friends, is hopefully where you come into play. I recently discovered through EarthboundX exactly what a "Let's Play" is. I had never heard of them before, but I liked the idea behind them. I even did a little more digging, watching quite a few on Youtube. I learned quickly that they were often casual in nature.
So I had an idea. A Let's Play with a twist of sorts. I've always been a huge fan of Morrowind (The Elder Scrolls III). Not only the story or open-world style of game play, but I had a deep appreciation for the incredible lore that laid behind the game's foregrounds. I still have my map of Morrowind from the GotY edition pinned up on my wall.
I got this crazy notion that with the right inspiration (Morrowind), and the faith and drive to continue writing (You guys, hopefully), I could take another shot at this whole writing thing.
Here's my plan:
Much like a Let's Play, it's going to consist of my uploading screenshots of Morrowind gameplay that I've taken myself. Unlike a (typical) Let's Play, the screenies will be accompanied by several paragraph long short stories chronicling the characters story. Totally original, involving original characters, original insights into Morrowind Lore, and more. The point is that even if you don't enjoy or know about Morrowind, it wouldn't matter because it'd be more like reading an episodic style mini-series.
So, I need to know who'd be interested in these. I will admit, I am vain, and I dislike doing things that end up being appreciated by no one but myself. So before I even start, I'd like to know who would be following the story.
Please leave your questions or comments.
Much obliged,
~Tot
