I remember I bought this off Steam for about 2 bucks, it's actually not that bad.
Yeah I *didn't* buy it off of Steam. So when I installed it, obviously it didn't go into the Steam directory. Xfire wouldn't recognize it as installed because it wasn't in the Steam directory...

And yeah it's okay so far. 'Cept for the fact that in Advanced Options, the Specular option doesn't save. I turn it off, play a little, save it, quit, come back and then it's on again. I even messed with the settings.ini file and it doesn't even stay off lol.
Don't think I've heard of this game. What is it exactly?
Just your run-of-the-mill shooter. Pretty "meh" story line. The dialogue is seriously laughable. But it's got some cool guns, it's challenging even on the easiest setting, and was something new to try. It's got some pretty decent graphics for how little resources it uses.
@TheTot What's it about?
Don't know too much about it just yet. It takes place way into the future. A recent discovery of a mineral called Hibbardium makes a lot of new things possible, like synthetic life and stuff. Unfortunately it can also be used as a nasty narcotic. You're some mercenary dude with not much of a background so far, all I know is that Hibbardium doesn't affect him the same way because he's not a natural resistance. So an old friend recruits you to go investigate why everyone in one of the biggest Hibbardium mines in the galaxy is going nutso and killing people.
Sounds decent enough.
Meh okay I retract my statement about the "meh" story line it is decent. But seriously, the voice acting and dialogue writing is just appalling. I'm really tempted to record the first cut scene and show you just how bad it is. And it only gets worse from there.
@TheTot If the voice acting is annoying enough, it can easily ruin a game.

On a side note, I played a certain pure adventure game on the PC where the story was pretty good and it had some really intelligent ideas put into it. Too bad it literally had the worst voice acting I've ever heard in a game. Everyone's voices sounded like extremely loud nails on a chalkboard. What's even worse is that there was no way to adjust the games sound AT ALL. Also, I don't remember there being any subtitle option in the game either.
